Bassekou Kouyate & Amy Sacko
Bassekou Kouyate is the undisputed world master of the N’goni, a virtuoso, a pioneer of innovation, as well as a stronghold of tradition. He has given the ancient instrument noble notes and made it shine on international stages with legends like Youssou N'Dour, Ali Farka Toure, Toumani Diabate, Bela Fleck, Taj Mahal, Eliades Ochoa, Damon Albarn, Michael League, Carlos Santana, and U2. His latest album features him with his wife Amy Sacko, herself a griot with a powerful voice raised in praise songs as is their tradition. Available with one or two accompanying musicians, Bassekou and Amy celebrate their traditional heritage on Djundun (One World) while bringing it forward into the 21st century - this release has already hit #1 on the Transglobal World Music charts.
